Outdoor 3-tier platter

I love these 3 tiered platters. . . I have been looking at alot of different sites to decide which I would like to make. I think this is the one.

Here is the link if you would like the directions to make it too. Platter I like the idea that this one can be used indoors and out, because of the paint used.

Help!!! I need newsletters that kill!!!

Todays Blog Tour with Alyson Stanfield started like this:

It is not everyday that I get to conduct an interview here at The Colorist. And even rarer still the chance to hob-nob in the greater world of art business. Are you an artist in need of guidance in marketing your wonderful art? I'll take that as a yes.

You bet it is a Yes!!

I have been following along "learning" every step of the way! Go to The Colorist Blog and read the entire interview! Take the time to look around and read some posts, Casey is a wonderful artist, and writes well! It will be worth the read!

Thanks Alyson andCasey for another great lesson to help me grow in my marketing skills.

I am going to spend some time looking at and reading the newsletters that were suggested in the blog. YOU may just want to do so too!!

I'd rather be in the studio!

I'd rather be in the studio

I recently subscribed to Alyson Stanfield's Art Biz Blog. I have marketing my art and business on my mind and her blog fit the bill in helping to educate myself. Stop by her blog and see for your self! http://www.artbizblog.com/ For more information on Alyson's new book "I'd rather be in the studio" go here: http://www.idratherbeinthestudio.com/ Here is the Amazon link for Book http://snipurl.com/214q8. I am learning so much from following Alyson on her tour of blogs. My two favorites - because they apply to me are the follow stops: Stop from April 10th at Rachelle Disbennett-Lee, PhD blog entitled "Take Action Now with Coach Lee". Here is the link to the interview http://tinyurl.com/4myruc . I found the question and answers so helpful to attaining my goal with my art business!

I was a quick subscriber to Rachelle Disbennett-Lee's blog . . .so much helpful information.

Stop from Today (April 25) at Anne Randolph - Soup Kitchen Writing Blog. Here is the link to the interview http://tinyurl.com/4ehmf8 . I have been struggling with writing in my blog (and other areas of my business in general). I found the question and answer so helpful. I know I needed a schedule - so much of the time I "find" time for my art and my business - instead of making time! Instead of "going to work"!! I feel very uncomfortable writing about myself and marketing my art is just that. Marketing my self just as much as my art.

I subscribed today to Anne Randolph's blog . . .so much I need to learn about writing. So much confidence I need to aquire! *smile*

Stop in with me and follow Alyson on her tour! Link of schedule follows: http://idratherbeinthestudio.com/blogtourstops.html

Take some time for yourself and your business - purchase the Alyson's book! The link is in my side bar to the left.

Inspiration

Quote for today

"Inspiration follows aspiration."– Rabindranath Tagore

I was intrigued by the quote, and warmed by it too. I looked up the words in the quote:

in·spi·ra·tion
[in-spuh-rey-shuh n]
noun
1. arousal of the mind to special unusual activity or creativity
2. a product of your creative thinking and work; "he had little respect for the inspirations of other artists"; "after years of work his brainchild was a tangible reality"
3. a sudden intuition as part of solving a problem
as·pi·ra·tion
[as-puh-rey-shuhn]
noun
1. strong desire, longing, or aim; ambition: intellectual aspirations.
2. a goal or objective desired: The presidency is the traditional aspiration of young American boys.
3. act of aspirating; breath.
I have always thought that I knew what inspiration was/is . . .until I looked it up. It really is much more than I thought it was/is.
I knew aspiration was breathing, but couldn't figure out how it fit in with this quote. I know now, that it is breathing - breathing in all the hopes and dreams and making them reality.
It makes me smile . . .I will remember this quote and think about it often.

Check in tomorrow - I will be having my first "bloggy giveaway"!

Painting, Crocheting, and Me!

I have been really busy - Summer is on it's way! Seems everyone is busy being busy! LOL My website is open and ready for me to continue adding "goodies" to it. My blogger is open and ready for my thoughts and interest.

I painted the following:

This is a http://www.thepaintedpearbasket.com/firstpg.htmTerrye French design . . .I love her whimsical primitive patterns. I painted this design on a canvas, most of the time I paint on "house hold" objects. It was a nice change to work with a canvas.

When I am not painting, I like to crochet. I usually crochet when we watch T.V. in the evenings. Right now I am making a baby blanket for my step-daughter. Her little one is due soon. I will post a picture of the blanket when I finish.
